Abal

ABAL is a language of Programmation conceived and distributed by the company Prolog (with the Ulis in France).

ABAL (Avanced Business Language Application) is a procedural language directed object.

ABAL is an interpreted language, the source is translated into T-code by a translator (ATR) and a data link (ald) in the form of a Fichier .at which is not achievable directly.

Programs ABAL are achievable thanks to an executor specific to each Operating system (Windows, Twinserver, Useit, Unix /SCO).

There exist different type of executors: 16Bits and 32Bits to answer specificities of the various operating systems and the applicatifs needs.

The executor rests on BDA (dynamic libraries) to add functionalities:

Visual: Library graphical interface
FAC: Library access file
TTY: Library access port COM
MODEXT: Library Critéria/ODBC
BDAMAIL: Library Communication with waiter of Email (sending/reception, decoding/encoding enclosures,…)
BDANET: Library for use of sockets HTTP customer and waiter
GRAPHABAL: Library management of graph (Camembert cheese, Histogram, etc)

The executor is also pressed on libraries systems specific to each operating system (DLL under Windows, .so under Useit, .xp under Twinserver).

Language ABAL is an improvement of mailbox (Business Language Application). ABAL evolved/moved since many years: ABAL, ABAL2 and now ABAL3. ABAL is composed of a text editor, of a data link, a translator and a debuggor.

There exists one integrated of development which gathers the editor, the data link, the translator and the debuggor.

New integrated named SING rests on BDA VISUAL. It makes it possible to define forms (edition or data entry screen) and creates automatically code ABAL3 and VISUAL corresponding to the form of seizure or impression (… to develop…) and which allows, to couple with BDA BDANET to carry out a Serveur HTTP which answers the requests by producing pages HTML.
