Biography

Born in a family from professionals of the music and spectacle, he is the son of the Dominique White-Francard sound engineer, who produced several tubes of the Années 1970, and the nephew of the organizer Patrice White-Francard, which presented the emission of Antenna 2 the Children of the rock'n'roll and was managing director of Disney Channel France. His/her brother Hubert, producer is the DJ known under the name of Low Boom.

Raised in the Paris region, Mathieu decides to devote himself to the music at the 15 years age, forsaking his schooling and missing his baccalaureat. Working the guitar and the keyboards, it is also familiarized with the techniques of studio. Attracted by the black-American music, it is interested in the voice and the melodies of Stevie Wonder of which he is a large admiror, but also in the technique of guitar of Jimi Hendrix, with the Funk of Sly Stone and finally with the innovations of Prince.

In 1992, with the assistance of his brother, it records in his apartment the album That justice is made , on which it plays of all the instruments except the battery. The album leaves in 1993 and gives place to a first individual heading Your image . This funk with the French manner allures the young public. Its first concert, with nine musicians, proceeds with the New Morning on May 12th, 1993. Then it connects a hundred concerts in France, Europe and in Canada. Sinclair is rewarded with the Victoires for the Music by the title for revelation for the year 1995.

It leaves in 1995 its second album, With the contempt of the danger , recorded with its group in the French countryside. The style does not differ from the precedent, even if arrangements became more sober and the melodies are developed. The first individual one is called With the round . The rounds take again with the group the System. At the end of 250 concerts, the singer stops finally and becomes sedentary.

In 1997, after the intensive experiment of the scene, Sinclair a new album the Good attitude leaves, which marks a true turning with songs which dissociate its last influences and are directed towards a French writing.

After having turned all the year 1998, Sinclair closes its turn of France to the Zenith of Paris on November 28th. Besides this evening gives place to an album live which leaves in 1999. With the program, titles headlights as If they is good like that , Ensemble or the Test of time . Only one title is new, Ici and now , writes especially for the round. After the live exit of the album , the relations with its recording company become difficult. It should be waited until 2001 so that the things are released: Sinclair changes recording company. In September, leaves Supernova Superstar , containing twelve pieces recorded in the Labomatic studio, which belongs to his/her Dominique father, his Low Boom brother and itself. Always also largely influenced by the funk, Sinclair composes, written and arranges the whole of the songs. The first simple That makes me more badly, is dedicated to his/her partner, the actress Emma de Caunes whom he marries in September. Eager to find its public, it programs a round of the clubs “to heat itself”. But the great round starts in January 2002 whereas the album reached the 100.000 sold specimens. Sinclair is invited to play on March 9th with the Zenith for the ceremony of the Victoires of the Music. It is named besides there in the category Meilleur Album thepop one of the year.

In 2002, leaves the BO the film My idol of Guillaume Canet whose Sinclair is the author. This album is located in the line of the precedents. In 2004 in Digipack a new album, leave As I am , and a “Best off”. As I am , which contains nine new pieces, is also the title of the first individual one extracted from this album. The individual following Heureux nevertheless is rather widely diffused out of radio. The “Best off” 1992-2004 , as for him, contains greatest successes of Sinclair.

Sinclair will take part in the jury of the television program Nouvelle Star on the chain M6 for the season 2007-2008.
