The people Abé (or Abbey ) live in Ivory Coast. They account for approximately 1,4% of the population of the country (that is to say 200.000 people) and are installed primarily in the area of Agboville, in the north of Abidjan.

They belong to the group Akan as the Ashanti of the Ghana from where they are originating. Migration between XVIIe and XVIIIe century towards Ivory Coast by fleeing slavery.

The revolt of 1905

At the time Colonial E, their revolt in 1905 had led to the deportation of some of them towards the Central Africa and the Congo Brazzaville.
