The Aa off Weerijs is a Rivière which runs in Belgium (province of Antwerp) and with the Netherlands (province of the Brabant-Septentrional ), and which belongs to the Bassin pouring of the Meuse.

Aa off Weerijs takes its source in Belgium, or it is born with the Confluent from the Grote Aa which comes from Wuustwezel and from the Kleine Aa which comes from Brecht.

In the center of Breda, it feeds, with the higher course of the Mark the channels of belt of the old city. By leaving Breda, the river is called Mark. Via the Dintel, it is thrown in the Volkerak.

Name

“Aa” is the name of several River in Europe. The Aa term constitutes an etymological root meaning “water” in the majority of the Germanic languages. This name, like its derivatives and its regional alternatives, are carried by a great number of small rivers in the North-West of Europe.

This river also gave its name to the town of Breda, whose name means broad Aa .
