  • "A Toss of the dice never will not abolish Hasard" , Michel Pierson and Ptyx editors, Paris London Seville, registration of copyright June 2004. Pulling with 90 specimens on Vellum. Restitution of the typographical composition designed by Mallarmé for the project of edition Vollard of 1897, project given up after the sudden death of the author in 1898. This restitution was established starting from the sets of tests preserved at BnF, by taking account of the corrections or handwritten wishes of Mallarmé and by correcting some errors of Firmin-Didot printing works. For the first time, all the pages of the book are printed in the format (38cm X 28cm) and in the characters chosen by the author and it is finally possible, more than 100 years after its design, to see and of reading the " Blow of Dés" such as Mallarmé wanted that it was, " in its setting in spiritual scene exacte" , without dissociating the subgrade nor the spirit of the letter. The specimen intended for the registration of copyright can be consulted with the Library of the Institute of Political sciences in Paris. A specimen was acquired by the Irvine University of California. Another specimen finally was given to the departmental Museum Stephan Mallarmé in the Vulaines-on-Seine, i.e. Valvins, the place even where Mallarmé lived and died and where, according to the testimony of Paul Valéry, it carried out the last corrections on tests preliminary to the impression of the poem.
