Synopsis

In French Indo-China, during the Years 1920, a widow, Mrs Dufresne, évertue to be rebuilt stoppings to protect its rice plantations from the typhoon S of the China Sea (which it is obstinated to call Pacific Ocean) while his/her children Joseph and Suzanne only think of fleeing their poor wretch existence of the family bungalow planted with the right in the middle of the unhealthy marshy plains…

Around film

Remake of the film Stopping against the Pacific realized by Rene Clement in 1958. Gaspard Ulliel takes again the role of Joseph created by Anthony Perkins.
Juliette Binoche had initially been had a presentiment of at the time of casting and it is finally Isabelle Huppert which was retained for the role of the mother created by OJ Van Fleet in film of Clément.
