A country, two systems
“ a country, two systems ” is a formula which was stated by Deng Xiaoping in connection with the return of HongKong to the China. It means that HongKong can belong to China without one applying the same political and economic rules to it. After the return of HongKong to China, this slogan was also used for other territories, in particular Macao and the special economic zones, even Taiwan.
Our policy consists in applying the principle known as " a State, two systèmes" ; to speak more precisely, that means that within the Popular republic of China, the billion Chinese living the continental part saw under a socialist mode , while HongKong and Taiwan are governed by a capitalist system . These last years, China attempted to rectify the " errors; of gauche" and, in all the fields, a policy worked out which takes account of the real conditions. Five years and half of efforts bore fruits. It is precisely in this economic situation that we have advanced the formula " a State, two systèmes" to regulate the problem of HongKong and Taiwan|Deng Xiaoping
