The Niedersachsenstadion (" stage of Low-Saxe") is a Football stadium located at Hanover, built for the Hanover 96 evolving/moving in championship of Germany. The club disputes its home matches there since 1959.

The Niedersachsenstadion is inaugurated in 1954 and accommodates several meetings of the world cup 1974. It is reconfigured by the cabinet Schulitz+Partner starting from 2003 for the world cup 2006. The arena multifunction then becomes a stage only dedicated to football, inaugurated the January 25th 2005 and renamed AWD-Arena . Its capacity is of 50.000 spectators at the time of the meetings of Bundesliga, but the number of sitted places amounts only to approximately 45.000.

A new lighting system is integrated into the cover, this one is made up of an opaque segment and translucent sheets of ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), supported by a metal structure. The adventure playground is protected from freezing and the Bad weather by systems of heating and drainage.

During the world cup the stage will bear French official name (, " Stage of the World cup - Hanovre").
