ATLIS
ATLIS (Automatic Alignment and Laser System Integration) is a laser Pod of designation for the shooting of guided ammunition.
This pod was developed to allow the Mirage F1 CR and Jaguar of the Air force to be able to use guided armaments laser. It allows the shooting of BGL or AS-30L.
One of the characteristics of this Pod is to allow a locking of the target, which authorizes its use on single-seater airplane. The head of guidance has a system INS which compensates for the movements of the plane, making it possible to the pilot to escape from the danger zone without being concerned with weapon. It is coupled with a camera TV for research and locking.
Its first operational employment is at the time of the first war of the gulf, assembled under the jaguars, then it was largely used in Kosovo.
Not allowing a night use, it is replaced by the Pod PDLCT under the Mirage 2000D, but offers better performances of day that this last.
