History

History

The club, founded in 1933, falls under the tread of the large clubs Nationalisme, in opposition to the clubs of Pieds-Noirs, during the period Coloniale. Its foundation would be due to political divergences between the leaders of the senior of the Oranian clubs, in fact USM Oran. Certain leaders, indeed, under the crook of Fire Baghdad Aboukébir, ex goalkeeper, then influential leader, member of the Association of the oulémas Moslem Algerian, would have made scission and thus founded in 1933 the ASM Oran.

Remaining circumscribed with Me for a long time Djedida dined and Saint Antoine, Oranian districts having undergone the effects of the rural migration very little, the supporters of the club remained generally Oranais of stock and rather kind BCBG compared to the direct rival, the MC Oran, whose mass of supporters are much more numerous.

Other disciplines

The ASM Oran is in addition a multidisciplinary club. Indeed, in addition to the Football, it is one of the largest trainers in Judo and Boxe. The first Algerian Olympic medal, moreover, was obtained in 1984 in boxing by Mustapha Moussa, member at that time of the Club. Other national and African medals were obtained as well in Boxe as in Judo. Moreover, the ASM Oran, was traditionally large Hand-ball and especially of the Basket-ball to the national scales.
