ARIANE 2
ARIANE 2 is the second generation of the Fusée ARIANE.
Structure
The structure of the ARIANE 2 was identical to that of ARIANE 1 with a third stages more lengthened: the height passing to 49 meters and the weight with 219 tons.Its capacity of carrying in geostationary Orbite of transfer was of 2 175 kg, is 325 kg more than ARIANE 1.
ARIANE 3 which was identical to ARIANE 2, except the addition of two additional engines with powder on the level of the first stage, flew before ARIANE 2.
Launchings
There were six launchings of ARIANE 2. The first flight took place the May 30th 1986 and was a failure. The other flights will be successes, last launching was carried out in 1989.
