AGGIR

The grid AGGIR is a tool making it possible to evaluate the loss of Autonomie of a person, mainly of the elderly, whom they reside in institution or in residence. It allows a homogeneity of coding at the national level of the Iso-resource group (GIR) of a person whose score is an argument taken into account in the installation of a Aide to the person. AGGIR is the Acronyme of Autonomy Gérontologique Groupes Iso-Resources.

Definition of the model

Model AGGIR proposes ten seven items bearing on the evaluation of the capacity of a person to carry out the acts of the daily life. The evaluation relates to physical and psychic autonomy. It makes it possible to evaluate what only the person does and discriminates what the person can make or wants to make . The technical assistances (Prosthesis, Déambulateur, Wheel chair…) being regarded as belonging to the person.

Use

The ten seven items are divided into two categories: discriminating variable and illustrative variable . Only the ten variable discriminating are used for the calculation of the GIR (Iso-resources Groups) which is six energy of GIR 1 (total dependence) with the GIR 6 (total autonomy). Each variable is declined in three methods of coding represented by has, B and C. Calculation being then made via a Software .

Coding of the items

  • Method C: the person does not make, it is necessary to make in its place or to make make by someone else;
  • Modalité b: the person can only make, but does not do it spontaneously, ou/et correctly ou/et usually ou/et partially;
  • Modalité a: the person makes only and spontaneously, usually completely and correctly;
The methods B and C also refer to the assistance carried by the health professionals.

Discriminating variables

The ten discriminating variables evaluate:
  • the Coherence: to converse or behave in a logical and judicious way;
  • orientation: to locate itself in time, the moments of the day and the places;
  • the body toilet, evaluating the toilet the top (head, trunk) and the toilet of bottom;
  • the Preparing, evaluating under-items preparing of the top, the average preparing, and the preparing of bottom;
  • the Food evaluating under-items because of being useful and eating;
  • elimination evaluating under-items urinary elimination and of fecal elimination;
  • transfers: to lie down, sit down, rise;
  • displacements inside: with or without average techniques;
  • displacements outside: same manner as the item preceding one, but outside;
  • the remote communication: use of a telephone, a telealarm.

Illustrative variables

  • management: to manage its businesses, its budget, to make steps or to use money;
  • kitchen: to prepare the meal;
  • household: to carry out the whole of domestic work;
  • transport: to make the use of the means of transport (or to order them);
  • purchases: to order by correspondence or to make direct acquisitions;
  • the follow-up of the treatment: observance with the medicamentous treatment;
  • activities of the spare time: to have cultural activities, sporting, pastimes.
