The club
The club is born in 2002 following the transfer of the club of Wimbledon FC to Milton Keynes. The fans of the Gifts made very to prevent this transfer worthy of the American franknesses, but in spite of the support of all the others supporters British, he did not manage to avoid this true sacrilege… The fans of the Gifts then decided to found a club. The transfer to Milton Keynes was delayed one season because of problem of stage to Milton Keynes, also, Wimbledon FC still evolved/moved with London in 2002-2003… in front of empty platforms! Without popular support, the " FC" frankness; (nickname mocker of the Milton Keynes Gifts FC) was relegated in D3 equivalent. In same time, AFC Wimbledon filled the tank in its stage with 4.500 places. The club is a model for much, and FC United off Manchester founded in 2005 following the takeover by the Glazer family proceeds of the same spirit: the refusal of the purely financial drifts. The AFC Wimbledon evolves/moves in 2005-2006 in the First Division of the Isthmian League (D8 equivalent) after having known two promotions at the time of their the first three seasons.
The fans and official Internet site of the club assert, rather logically, the past of the Wimbledon FC until May 2002.
