History
Being translated
Origins
The origins of the Fiorentina goes up with 1898 with the creation of the first football club with Florence, the Florence Football Club . It is a club reserved to the aristocrats and the people are not interested in it. In 1902, a group of young people florentins (whose Italo Capanni, Mario Meloni and certain Galluzzi, brother of a future player of Fiorentina) create the Itala F.C. which disputes its meetings in the district of Campo di Marte. In 1908, the Firenze Football Club is born, one finds among his founders Oreste Gelli. This time, the playing field is located at the Parco delle Cascine (on Prato del Quercione). At the same time east creates the Club Sportivo Firenze initially dedicated to cycling and with other minor sports, it is only after a few years that a section football will be founded. In 1910, the Palestra Ginnastica Libertas (founded in 1887) also assembles a section dedicated to football. Actually, this section was to compete with directly the Club Sportivo Firenze . The two teams played Prato del Quercione, the two grounds being simply separated by a cord. The tensions enter the two teams go up and are the Ghiozzi Rossi ('' gobies red '', because of their scarlet shirt) of Libertas which will leave Quercione to find asylum on a ground of Via Bellini.
The foundation
With final, the only football teams which survive Florence are the Club Sportivo Firenze and the Palestra Ginnastica Libertas . None of both shines at the national level. To solve problem, the two clubs think of being sacrificed while amalgamating, this fusion having to lead to a stronger single team, in particular on the economic plan. Moreover, at that time, the Fascisme encouraged the clubs of the same city to amalgamate, in order to avoid divisions which seemed suspect with the eyes of the mode. Teams like the Napoli and the Roma are born at that time thanks to these fusions. Fiorentina will follow the movement with at its head the fascistic federal police chiefs Ridolfi and Foschi. The July 3rd 1926, Libertas plays its last match against Prato with the following team: Sbrana, Farina, Posteiner, Barigozzi, Magnifico, Salvatorini, Mazzacurati, Focosi, Capskay, Segoni II, Baldini .
Fiorentina is thus founded the August 26th 1926, in a cabinet of notary, officializing fusion between the Club Sportivo Firenze and the section football of the Palestra Ginnastica Libertas . The first president is the Marquis Luigi Ridolfi (there will remain 15 years at his station). The first trainer is Karóly Capskay.
At this time, all the press is devoted to died of legendary the Rudolph Valentino and the creation of Fiorentina is thus relegated to a paragraph in Nazione: " scomparso it dualismo FRA I maggiori sodalizi che praticano questo generates di sport in Firenze E will ora possibile vedere gli ex soci del Club Sportivo E della Libertas fraternizzare ".
Mid-September of this year 1926, the list of the participating teams to the championship Tuscan does not comprise the name of Fiorentina but only Firenze . A few days later, the new team disputes its first friendly match against the Sign and loses 2-1. Nazione, the September 20th 1926: " It debutto beyond will squadra fiorentina che dovrà FRA breve iniziare it campionato di PRIMA divisione not E stato felice. I concittadini sound system stati battuti da the Sign per 2-1. A.C. Fiorentina ha avuto it torto di cominciare a po' tardi gli allenamenti beyond will squadra. The my colpa not crediamo debba ascriversi LED tutto gli intendimenti dei dirigenti LED nuovo sodalizio calcistico… "
The colors of the club are those of Florence: red and the white. The shirt being divided vertically between these two colors. Three days after the defeat against the Sign , Fiorentina disputes a new friendly match against Sampierdarenese and obtains the tie 2-2. Here teams:
-
1st half-time: Serravalli, Posteiner, Bargioni, Salvatorini, Segoni, Tuti, Focosi, Nichel, Bolteni, Baccilieri, Bandini
- 2nd half-time: Sbrana, Posteiner, Benassi, Salvatorini, Longoni, Carulli, Baldini, Nichel, Bolteni, Baccilieri, Bandini
Beginnings
1926-27: the beginning
The team is allowed in the group C for her first season which is not particularly brilliant. This first championship is rather the occasion to be regulated and take its marks. But some players illustrate themselves such as certain Bolteni which registers 12 goals and finishes better striker of the season. Actually, its true name is Rodolfo Volk, born in 1906 with Rijeka (at the time Italian city under the name of Fiume) and is under the blow of the Conscription. Thus, to play, it must ask the authorization its superiors who refuse it to him. It is presented to the matches under a false name and will thus play all the season. Thereafter, it is transferred to the ACE Rome where it becomes the idol of the tifosi .
1927-1928: first missed place
The following year, Fiorentina is transferred in the group R of the Championship of the First Division and finishes second of this same championship, behind Bari. Victory 4-1 at the time of the return match against Savoia di Torre Annunziata gives birth to a polemic. Thus, Nazione written, one month later: " We can say, indeed, that something of irregular occurred at the time of this match and that deserves an investigation of Federcalcio in order to draw the things with light ". A few days later, the Fédération of Italy of football puts forth the following judgment:-
Savoia offered a certain amount of money to Fiorentina so that the latter loses the match
- Fiorentina refused this proposal but
- Savoia withdrew its offer little before the kickoff of the part
- Fiorentina did not denounce it agreed not to box the premium of victory in exchange of what Savioa was committed not declaring fixed price against Bari
- the responsibility for the facts fall down on the sport director of Savoia and on the director of Fiorentina
- President Luigi Ridolfi and the adviser Gino Agostini must be erased
The judges will retain certain points, the verdict is the following:
-
the directors of Savoia and Fiorentina are excluded (of which Ridolfi and Agostini)
- the part is cancelled (no point for the two teams)
- Savoia is condemned to pay 4500 Liras and Fiorentina 1000 Liras
- Luigi Ridolfi can occupy the post of extraordinary police chief of Fiorentina
The last match with Bari is decisive for the championship: Fiorentina loses 5-3. During the part, many incidents proceeded, the players florentins were insulted and struck by supporters baresi . The reserves deposited by Fiorentina will not be received and the club will have to be satisfied with the second place.
1928-1929: The season of compressing
This season, the Federcalcio decides to reorganize the elite of Italian football. It forms two groups of 16 teams, the eight first of each group will dispute the Serie has and the others will be in Serie B. Fiorentina is versed in the group B with teams like Bologna, the Juventus, the Genoa, Brescia, Pro Vercelli, the Inter Milan (called Ambrosiana), Cremonese, the Lazio Rome, the Napoli, etc… Fiorentina finishes last of its group with only 5 victories, 26 goals marked and 96 boxed. The team is always pulled by Capskay but it is assistant for him the Hungarian Julius Feldmann which will remain the following seasons. The recruits to dispute this season are Meucci, Luchetti and Checchi. The goalkeeper of Fiorentina, Pieri, is replaced by Sernagiotto after two calamitous services: one 0-3 boxed in residence vis-a-vis Ambrosiana and one 0-11 boxed against Juventus in Turin. The following week, to face Genoa in an important match, the team is the following one: De Prà, Lombardo, De Vecchi, Barbieri, Burlando, Parodi, Puererai, Bodini, Catto, Chiecchi, Rosso . Fiorentina passes at the head to the half-time thanks to a goal of Pilato IV but Genoa succeeds in registering two goals in the last three minutes of the meeting to gain this decisive part. At the end of the match, the supporters of Fiorentina retain the referee (certain Galassi), showing it to have been partial. The situation becomes worrying, so much so that the leaders florentins had to accompany the referee to the station by Signa, to 20 km of Florence. The director of the play was attacked all the same and the federal authorities inflicted a suspension of ground of a match.
The week according to, it is a new defeat which concludes the match from Viola, 2-7 against Napoli. The match of suspension was played Modena, against Lazio (demolished 0-4).
1929-1930: The Series B
The famous purple shirt of the club with a red flower of lily as blazon (the players besides are often called the gigliati (giglio = lily)) for the first time the September 22nd 1929 at the time of a friendly match against the ACE Rome is endorsed. The legend says that the particular color comes from an error at the time of washing, flowers of lavenders fading on the shirts. According to Indro Montanelli, large tifoso of Fiorentina, the purple one was a color extracted the Lavande thanks to alchemists florentins and thus forms part of the history the city. Always it is that the purple one was adopted like official color of Fiorentina. For its first season in Series B, Fiorentina is classified 4th with 40 points. The team-type is then: Sernagiotto, Magli, Renzo, Sinibaldi, Staccione, Pizziolo, Neri, Lucchetti, Staffetta, Baldinotti, Galluzzi, Rivolo . It should be noted that Mario Pizziolo and Bruno Neri played later in national team.
1930-1931: Promotion in Series has
Season 1930-1931 of Series B sees Fiorentina at the head finishing championship with 46 points. The decisive point was obtained on the lawn of Spezia thanks to a goal of Fortunato Baldinotti. Fiorentina takes its revenge on Bari which finishes this time second after having prevented the Florentin club from assembling three years before. To the preceding formation were added Bruno Ballante called " it gatto magico" (the magic cat), transferred from the ACE Rome and the defender Renato Vignolini. The team was thus: Swinging, Corbyons (Magli R.), Vignolini, Staccione, Pizziolo I (Neri), Neri (Pizziolo II), Lucchetti, Staffetta (Moretti), Baldinotti, Galluzzi, Rivolo .
Luigi Ridolfi had then taken again the presidency of the club, after being appointed Extraordinary Commissaire of the Federation in 1928. When Fiorentina learned its promotion, Ridolfi presented its resignation for all its federal mandates but the FederCalcio proposed to him to remain at its station, which it accepted readily.
The Series has
Recruitment: Pedro Petrone the artillero
Fiorentina just promoted in Series has must be able to support the comparison with the best teams than are the Juventus, the Genoa, Ambrosiana, Bologna or the ACE Rome. For that, the team violated recruits the defender Gazzari (US Triestina), the medium ground Giuseppe Bigogno (AC Legnano), Alfredo Pitto (first selected in team of Italy of the history of Fiorentina since 1931), Antonio Busini (Bologna) and Gastone Prendato (Padoue).
Even the Feldmann trainer, from now on only following the departure of Csapkay, is considered unable for Series A. the leaders Tuscan call upon the Austrian Hermann Fellsner, then in station with Bologna.
But it always missed a center-forward who could draw the team upwards. Right before the beginning of the championship, the Uruguyan Pedro Petrone, player of the Nacional Montevideo, is recruited for 30.000 liras. It is called the artillero (the artillerist). Petrone was the high-speed motorboat of the team of Uruguay at the time of the Olympic Games of 1924 and 1928, when it led its selection to the gold medal. At the time of the World cup 1930, first of the name, it was on the other hand disappointing in spite of the title gained by its country. It is thus a champion in search of repurchase which unloads the August 6th 1931 with Genoa after a long crossing on a luxurious steamer. Its wages are of 20.000 liras per month, that is to say the double of a senior official of State but only half of the emoluments of Raimundo Orsi, star of the Juventus. At the same time as Petrone another Uruguyan player unloads, Guido Lamio, defender of the Peñarol. But a badly neat wound contracted as of its arrival will make it only return in Uruguay after a few months, without not to have never carried the purple shirt.
The anecdotes are numerous about it. Thus, the history says that Petrone arrived to Italy without its shoes at cramps and after having made the turn of the stores florentins, it required of its leaders to send a telegram in Uruguay to recover to them his. Finally, at the time of a visit in Bologna, his/her friend Sansone found the pair to him which will do all it (splendid) season, probably via Rizzoli . Or, at the time of a drive on the ground of Giglio Rosso, on the Viale dei Colli, it drew so extremely in the balloon that this one was gone from there to break a pane of a close villa.
