A5/2

A5/2 is an algorithm of Chiffrement by flood used within the framework of the communications GSM apart from Europe. It creates a pseudo-random continuation with which one carries out a XOR with the data.

In 1999, Ian Goldberg and David Wagner have it cryptanalysé only one month after its official publication. It proved extremely more vulnerable than the version A5/1, employed it in Europe. The experts estimate that it would be possible to decipher the data in real-time with adapted and not very expensive material.
