The 9th regiment of hunters with horse is a regiment of cavalry French created in the 1757 and dissolved on January 21st, 1994.

France is threatened of any share. 9th fights with the Armée with the Moselle in Belgium. It takes part in the victory of Fleurus where it removes with the enemy 3 parts of gun and fact Croatian prisoners 300 . In 1797, with Neuwied, the 9th watch the greatest value under the chief of Gardane brigade. The Thuillier captain charges a regiment with cuirassiers and removes 150 horses to him. The 9th combat then in Italy in the army of the general Bonaparte. With Vérone, in 1799 Moreau load with the head of the regiment. With the Bataille of Novi the chief of Liébault brigade is killed by charging the Russians.
After Wagram, in 1809 where the regiment provides superb loads it belongs to the Large army opposed to the 100 000 men of the two emperors of Austria and Russia.
From 1815 with the 1st World war
In 1823, it takes share in the countryside of Spain. With the combat of Lograno the sergeant Dorado makes captive the general Don Juan Sanchez. He will become again 9th of hunters with horse in 1825.
From 1839 to 1846, the regiment carries out its first countryside on the Algerian ground. It belongs to the Gery column on Saida and Brizina where it is announced particularly against the Ouled-Sidi-Sheik.
Again, in Algeria of 1868 to 1870 it takes part in the repression of the insurrection with the Cerez column with Laghouat.
After a rapid return on France at the time of the Franco-German Guerre of 1870 where it is employed with the defense of Paris it returns to Algeria in 1871. 11 still fights under Cerez with the combat of Guer El Drah.
Then in 1881 it takes share with forwarding in Tunisia and that of Oran definitively to return to France in 1883.
9th overlapped thus more than ten years on the ground of North Africa and fought very often beside his/her brothers in arms the hunters of Africa. It is the regiment of hunters with horse which remained longest in Algeria.
First World War
Second world war

the 9th Regiment of Hunters of Africa was created on July 1st, 1941 with Mascara by the meeting of 5th and 6th squadrons of the ''' 3 {{E}} ''' and ''' 5 {{E}} Régiments of Hunters of Africa '''.
- It receives on September 23rd, 1941, the guard of the standard of the 9th Regiment of Hunters with Horse.
- Of November 1942 in March 1943, it takes part in the countryside of Tunisia against the German Army. It takes share with the battles of Pichon, Kef El Amar and Fondouk-El-Okbi.
- In June 1943 re-equipped the very first one with American material (tank Destroyer). The 9th Regiment of Hunters of Africa becomes the regiment of tank destroyers of the 1 {{Re}} Armor-plated Division of the 1 {{Re}} French Army.
- on August 16th, 1944, the first elements of the regiment unloaded with Holy-Maxime.

In October 44 all the units are committed in the the Vosges then take part in the opening on the Alsace.
- In April 1945 begins for the regiment the Campagne from Germany with the 1st dB whose mission is to cut the retirement of the German forces of the Black Forest while progressing quickly towards Switzerland.
War of Algeria 1954 - 1961

Regroupé with Issoudun after the war 9th RC has will remain there only little of time.
- It embarks in 1946 for the North Africa where amalgamating with the 9 {{E}} Régiment of Spahis Algerians it will settle with Batna for eight years of peace.
- on November 1st, 1954 at 3 o'clock in the morning the district of the 9th RCA is attacked by (the Algerian rebels.
- During following years the terrorist phase is accentuated. 9th receives the mission of seeking and of destroying the rebellious bands; to ensure the maintenance of law and order and the protection of the goods.
- on April 1st, 1959 the 9th Regiment of Hunters of Africa becomes the ''' 4 {{E}} Régiment of Hunters of Africa '''.
- on November 3rd of the same year the 9th RCA is recreated and constitutes the battalion of the Sector of Pacification of Imckermann of the Oranian Northern Zone.
- II is dissolved definitively on October 1st, 1961.
