  • Mahipala restores the dynasty Pālā Bengal (fine of reign in 1040).
  • Çailandra of Sumatra undertake a forwarding against the rival kingdom of Mataram to Java of which they kill the king.

France

Worsen Byzantine

  • Alliance of Byzance with Venice.
  • Basile II, Byzantine Emperor, publishes a Chrysobulle granting for the first time of the commercial privileges to Venice. The Venetian ones obtain concession territorial with Constantinople and a reduction in the kommerkion (tax of 10% on the import, the export and the circulation of goods).

Poland

  • May 25th: Beginning of the reign of Boleslas Chrobry, Valiant the, duke of Poland (fine in 1025).
    • Mieszko Ier leaves a State whose population is estimated at 1,2 million inhabitants and whose borders are with few things close those of Poland in 1945, that is to say 250.000 km ².
    • Boleslas Ier, wire of Mieszko and Dubravka, appuit on the large ones, draws aside from the capacity his/her three brothers born of Oda and control surface alone. It maintains good relationships with the emperor. It extends its authority to Small Poland in the south (992 - 999). He does not manage to make the union of the Slavic Westerners against the expansion Germanic, but successful to stop the Germans and to take again the Lusace to them and to triumph over the Russians (1002).
  • Vojtech (Adalbert) Slavnik, first Czech bishop of Prague, leaves its évêché to become monk in Rome where the emperor Otton III persuades it to go évangéliser the still pagan Prussians. Arrived to Poland, he becomes the friend of king Boleslav the Valiant one.
  • Poland is crossed by roads which connect the Baltic, Russia of Kiev, Germany of Magdeburg and the Bohemia. Luxury items circulate for the prince and his entourage, exchanged against raw materials (rye, fur, honey) and slaves captured at the time of the wars.
