- the Hungarian intervene with the call of the rivals of the king Othon I {{er}}, among which his/her son-in-law Conrad the Russet-red, duke of Lotharingie, Arnulf of Ratisbon and the son of Othon, Liudolf de Souabe. Entreated turn casaque and deviate the Hungarian army on the Lotharingie, then the Champagne, the Burgundy and the Lombardy.
- Raid of the Hungarian until Rheims. They set fire to the monastery Saint-Gery with Cambrai.
- Beginning of the reign of Indulf, king d' Écosse, successor of Malcolm I {{er}}. It takes Edinburgh with the Angles of Northumbrie.
- Nicéphore Phocas replaces his/her father Bardas Phokas with the head of the Byzantine armies. It is victorious of the emir of Alep Sayf Al-Dawla.

Art & culture
- Maïeul becomes abbot of Cluny (fine in 994). It has a great influence over its time, in particular by its role at Othon the Large one.
- Construction of the large “temples cathedrals” of Khajuraho in India of North, the such temple of Lakshmana, decorated with sculptures erotic, built by the Chandelâ of Bundelkhan, vassal of the Pratihara. Those decorate their capital of some 85 temples Hindou S and Jaïna (Xe-11th centuries) of which a score remain.
