Events

  • Gontran the Rich person, duke of Low-Alsace, is private of its strongholds by Othon I {{er}} for high treason. His/her son Lancelin settles in Argovie and will be perhaps at the origin of the dynasty of the Habsbourg.

  • Died of Alain II '' Barbetorte '', Duke of Brittany. His/her son Drogon succeeds to him under the regency of Thibaud Ier of Blois and Foulque II of Anjou. In the fortresses which rose to resist Norman a little everywhere, the lords face the authority of the sucesseurs of Bores-Torte. It is one period of disorders and misery which will be prolonged until worms the end of the 14th century.
  • Achot III Bagratouni succeeds Abas Ier on the throne of Arménie. It transports the capital to Ani. Then begin the golden age of Arménie (951 - 1064).
    • Achot III yields the province of Kars to his/her brother, who creates a small kingdom of Arménie of the South.
    • Arménie knows its apogee under the reign of Gaghik Ier. With its death, its two sons are fought and the junior manages to tear off in his elder north of the country, where it founds the kingdom of Lori. At the beginning of the 11th century, Arménie is divided into four kingdoms: Ani, Kars, Lori and Vaspourakan, stronghold of the Artzrouni. The country weakens while dividing.
  • Foundation of the town of Châtellerault by the Airaud Viscount.

  • Dedication of the pagoda of the temple Daigo-ji to the Japan.
