- Beginning of the reign of Seiwa Tenno, emperor of the Japan at 9 years, first of the “emperors children” (fine in 876).
Europe
- January 6th: The Church of the Abbey of Saint-Germain of Auxerre, rebuilt by the abbot Hugues - first cousin of the King de France Charles the Bald person - after the plundering of the abbey by the Viking S, is devoted in the presence of the king.
- March 11th: Martyrdom of Euloge, archbishop of Cordoue. The revolt of the Mozarabes of Cordoue is crushed.
- Raid of Norman of Hasteinn and Björn Coast of iron on Lisbon. They go up the valley of the Guadalquivir, perhaps until Seville, then plunder Algeciras, pass Gibraltar and devastate the area of Cabo Tres Forced, in Africa. They make there prisoners, of which some blámenn (“characters with the dark skin”), which will be brought back in Ireland. They set out again towards north, attack the Roussillon, then settle in the Camargue and go up the the Rhone. The franques forces stop them with Valence. They move then towards the Italy and devastate coastal Pisa and some cities, of which Luni.
- the port of Luni is plundered (859 - 860). The legend tells that the Viking S would have taken the city for Rome, and would have invested it by the trick by claiming that their chief Hasteinn, dying, wanted funeral Christian.
- After the catch of Luni, the Norman ones of Hasteinn would be establishes in Brittany in 862, after knacks limited in Spain. Certain historians claim that they would have moved towards the Greece to show with broad Constantinople in 866.
