83 (collective)

83 is a collective of Québécois Rap, composed of the groups the Constellation (2 Faces & Eleven), Taktika (T-Mo, B.I.C and in the past Ben), and of the rappor solo Canox, without forgetting late the Pagail. 83 initially was a song, which then gave rise to the group. This song, which joins together all the MC' S referred to above, had an enormous impact in the rap Québécois underground and it is thanks to this success that the group was formed.

Ideology

The 83 aims at linking, without any segregation as for the color, with the sex or the religion, all the people of the bank-south of Quebec. Also they have says: So united we stand, divided we fall, the Bank-South is invincible .

Striking facts

83 is the group having sold the most disks compact of Hip-hop in Quebec behind Loco Locass. The 83 can be in particular praised to have advanced the cause of hip-hop in Quebec.

The 83 are also those which appeared on scene at the time of the official reception of ADISQ EM 2002, “borrowing” the microphone from the organizer Guy A. Lepage to pass their message. Following the speech of 2 Faces, a jury was created for the election of the album hip-hop of the year with the ADISQ.
