Revolt of the Croatian of Ljudevit Posavski against the Carolingian (819 - 823), crushed by the emperor Louis the Piles. Ljudevit Posavski brings together many Slavic chiefs of Posavina (between Save and Drave) who denounce the cruelty of the count Cadaloch on which they depend. They gain with their cause the Slavic ones of Carantanie, the Pannonia and even the Serbes. Between 819 and 822, the Francs send several forwardings, which devastate the country. After repression, Bavarian counts will control Carantanie in the place of the Slavic dukes. The center of the Croatian State is moved towards the mountainous regions of Velebit and of Kapela where prince Trpimir organizes his court on the frank model and is entitled Dux Croatorum .
After the revolt, German colonization progresses in Carantanie, hitherto little populated. The Carolingians form great units of exploitation ( dvori ), entrusted to their vassal. The Church obtains great fields with the hands of the bishops of Salzburg, Passau, Brixen and Freising or monasteries. The German colonists introduce new mining methods of the grounds (Innichen). The rural world is divided into free and independent peasants ( grubtar ) and serf ( kajžar ). They form communes ( srenja ) directed by a mayor ( župan ) who establishes the link between the lords and the commune.
