7z
The 7z ( for seven zip ) is a format of filing, which, having a open architecture, can thus support any new method of compression.
The algorithm of compression LZMA, which allows the creation of files much more compact than the formats ZIP, RAR, ACE, etc is the method of compression per defect of the format 7z.
The software 7-Zip is especially conceived for this type of file.
