7th regiment of the material

Subordinated to the 2 {{E}} brigade logistic of Souge, 7th RMAT is specialized in the combat in mountainous area .

So it is prepared with being projected in rough ground and under rigorous climatic conditions.

Creation and various denominations

  • July 1st, 1985: Creation of the 7th regiment of the material to Trier (Germany)
  • July 31st, 1993: Dissolution
  • July 1st, 1999: Re-creation of the 7th regiment of the material to Lyon starting from the establishments of the material of Lyon, Saint-Egreve, Leyment, of the 27e battalion of the material of the Division of infantry of mountain and of the 6th battalion of the material of the armor-plated light division

History of the garrisons of the 7th RMAT

  • July 1st, 1992: the 1st company of maintenance mobility (CM) leaves Saint-Egreve to settle in Lyon
  • June 24th, 2003: the 3rd electronic company of maintenance armament (CMEA) is created on the site of Lyon
  • July 1st, 2004: a section repair mobility fire of the 2nd company of maintenance mobility settles with GAP.
  • 1erjuillet 2005 : the 13th company provisioning (CAP) of the 13 {{E}} BSMAT, established with Moulins is attached to the regiment and becomes the 5th company provisioning
  • July 1st, 2006: a section repair mobility fire (SRMF) of the 1st company of maintenance mobility settles with Clermont-Ferrand.

Missions

Its missions are articulated in three shutters.
  • With the profit of all the units stationed in the area the Rhone-Alps
    • To maintain in condition the equipment in the specialities armor-plated car-machines, armament, turrets and fire control system, optics, transmissions, radars, NRBC;
    • To supply in spare parts and certain materials;
    • To take part in the revalorization of the equipment (VAB, ERC-90 Sagaie, VAC);
    • To give technical trainings with the profit of the area (optical, transmission, NRBC);
  • With the profit of the Army:
    • To supply in spare parts for the equipment NRBC and fire;
    • To rebuild and renovate certain equipment: freight vehicles logistic, tracked articulated vehicles, trailers, NRBC and fire, shelters…
    • To ensure the expertise on the maintenance of the equipment VAC, NRBC and fire, radiology and mountain.
  • projection
    • To be able to provide a structure of command of a regiment which can pile up four to five basic units (companies) of maintenance and provisioning.
