7th USAAF

Its history

The 7th USAAF operates in POA, i.e. on the theater of the Pacific Ocean Central. It is one of the air forces of USAAF.

It east creates starting from the elements of Hawaiian Air Force, in February 1942. It receives initially the order to ensure the air defense of the islands Hawaii, then starting from the middle of the year 1943, it operates in the central Pacifique and the Pacifique Western.

In January 1946, it turns over to Hawaii.

  • Robert W. Douglas: April 15th, 1944 - June 23rd, 1945.
  • Thomas D. White: June 23rd, 1945 - September 1946.
