- March 23rd: The Capitulaire Admonito generalis of Charlemagne fixes the first direct broad outlines of the Carolingian reform, which intends to regulate all the compartments of the life of the kingdom, in particular issuing the creation of schools in each évêché and the Baptême of the children before the one year age.

- Beginning of the reign of Idris Ier, Imam of the Morocco (fine in 791). Beginning of the dynasty idrisside.
