  • Ouverture of the first convent of spangled with the Tibet, Sam-Yas close to Lhassa.

  • December 4th: Charlemagne reign alone. With died of Carloman Ier, he announces that he refuses to hold for his nephews the succession of their father. Gerberge, widow of Carloman, will take refuge with its sons in Lombardy.

  • Charlemagne repudiates Désirée and returns it near his/her father Didier, then wife Hildegarde de Vintzgau, princess Souabe of a rare beauty (v.771). It will give him nine children, four boys and five girls, before dying in April 783 at the 25 years age.
  • the Kharidjites take again Kairouan.

  • Battle of Tobna, in the Aurès. The insurrection of the kharidjites is subdued.
