The Maghreb
- the Arab arrive on the Eastern coast of the Africa.
- general Revolt of the Berber Kharidjites in North Africa. They are victorious of an Arab Nobles army. The governor of Kairouan joins together against them an army of 70 000 men, but it is beaten and killed during a battle. This victory is at the origin of the autonomous kingdoms which are constituted in the Maghreb at the end of the VIIIe century: the kingdom Rustumide, the kingdom Idrisside, the kingdom of Sidjilmâsâ and the kingdom aghlabide.
- the revolt of the Berbères has several causes: weakness of the administration Omeyyade, competition between soldiers Qaïsides and Khalbides, excess of the taxation and claim of the equality in front of the tax for all the Moslems, Arabic and new converts, exactions of certain governors who make ground seizures, wool requisitions, and reduce women in slavery for the harems of the East.
- Salih, a former companion of Maïssara, founds the confederation Kharidjite of Berghouatas, in the Atlantic plains of the Morocco. It composes a Coran into Berber, proclaims prophet and imposes a rigorous morals. The confederation resists until the time Almoravide.

- In Iraq, failure of the revolt of Zayd ibn Ali, wire of Husayn, which leaves its name to a movement, the Zaydisme, whose doctrines will take importance.
- Important earthquake in Anatolia: the populations of Constantinople and Nicomédie are amply touched.
India
- the Châlukya take Kanchi and subject then the dynasties of the south.
- Reign of Maravarman Rajasimha Ier, king Pandya (fine in 765). It fights the Pallava and the Châlukya.
- the Rajput Gurjara-Pratihara Nagabhata Ier founds the dynasty of Avanti (Mâlwa, in the North-West, 740 - 1036). It drives out the Arab out of the Sind.
- According to the Râjataranginî , chronicle of the Cashmere written with the XIIe century by Kalhana, the king of Kanauj Yasovarman is reversed by the king of the Cachemire Lalitâditya, which becomes a universal sovereign who goes until venturing in the fabulous country of Amazones.

- the Khazars convert with the Judaïsme.
- According to a letter sent by the king Khazar Joseph to the Jewish doctor of Cordoue Hasdaï Ben Shatprut (Xe century), king Bulan would have received Byzantine and Arab ambassadors, come in the intention to convert it each one with their religion. The king makes also come a Jew scholar. He raises to the Christian priest the question: “Of the religion of the Jews and that of the Moslems, which is necessary to prefer? ” This last answers: “The religion of the Jews is better than that of the Moslems”. The Moslem scientist, he asks: “Is the religion of the Jews better than that of the Christians? ”. The Moslem answers: “Yes, it is preferable”. Bulan chooses then converted with the religion of Israel. The authenticity of this letter is discussed.
