- Battle of Akroinion: the Arabs who had invaded minor Asia are crushed by the basileus Leon III Isaurien close to Afyon Karahissar. Asia Mineure Eastern is released.
- Beginning of the reign of Alphonse Ier the Catholic, king of the Asturies (fine in 757). It reconquers on the Moors part of the Galicia and León. It creates a glacis (Gothic Fields) until the Duero.
- Threatened by Liutprand, the king of the Lombards, the pope calls Charles Martel with his help. He refuses.
- Charles Martel subjects the Provence.
- Incursion of the Arab in Provence which take Arles. Charles Martel and its brother Childebrand descends the valley from the the Rhone, subjects the Provence (the Patrice Maucontius is beaten and killed) and pushes back the Arab with the assistance of the Lombards of Liutprand. Later, the Arab will subject the coast of Provence again.
- Evêchés of Ratisbon and Salzburg. The duke of the Bavarian Theodore asks for to the pope the creation of an archbishop's palace with Passau having authority on évêchés of Salzburg, Ratisbon and Freising.
