  • April 23rd: Beginning of the reign of Dagobert III, king of the Frank (fine in 715).
  • Fine of the striking of gold in Occident (except in Italy).     • April 30th: Tariq ibn Ziyad, with the head of 7000 men, takes foot on cliffs of the Pillars of Hercules; he occupies them and strengthens the rock of Gibraltar, which he baptizes according to his own name (Djabal-Al-Tariq).
    • July 19th: Battle of Guadalete, the Visigoths of Rodéric are beaten by the Moslems of Tariq ibn Ziyad, which makes the conquest of the Spain in three years. Tariq takes Cadiz, Ecija, Cordoue then Tolède in October.
    • Confusion in the peninsula: the Jewish of Spain, victims of an anti-judaïque legislation, are ready to receive the foreigners liberators. The slaves flee of the fields.
