Precede with the audacity in the 6 {{E}} stage of the Tour of Italy. Christophe Kern (Crédit Agricole) decides to play its personal chart in this mountainous stage. It attacks with the 61e kilometer in company of the Italian Daniele Contrini (), of the Colombian Luis Felipe Laverde (Panaria-Navigare), of the Italian Marco Pinotti (T-Mobile) and of Switzerland Hubert Schwab (Quick Step-Innergetic). Marco Pinotti is most dangerous of the batch, placed at 3 ' 11" with general classification. The good of exit is granted to the five attackers.
From there, the stage will be summarized in a long procession of the five escaped ones, a few minutes in front of a group controlled by the runners of the Liquigas. The group climbs with moderated pace, allowing the whole of the competitors to be maintained in its center in the collars climbed today.
