Events

  • June: Battle of Tertry. Pépin of Herstal Maire of the palate of Austrasie supported by certain large of Neustrie demolishes the Francs Burgundy and of Neustrie led by Berchaire, mayor of the palate of Neustrie. This last dies a little later the king Thierry III and its treasure is put under monitoring, Pépin II can control all Gaulle and becomes mayor in the three kingdoms. It names Norderbert count de Paris, which drives out transitory Rainfroi successor of Berchaire.
    • Pépin tries to give again with the kingdom its old borders but its authority is null in the south of the the Loire and in Burgundy.

  • November 24th: Beginning of the reign of Egica, king of the Visigoths (fine in 702).

    • Egica removes the law on the forced baptism, but obliges the Juifs to sell, at a fixed price by the king, the vines, the grounds, the buildings and the slaves whom they had bought with Christians. This policy cannot be applied successfully.
