  • Beginning of the reign of Suiko, empress of the Japan. It is the triumph of the clan of the Soga (fine in 628). Shôtoku taishi becomes regent (592-622). It organizes the State Yamato on the Chinese model.

  • Shôtoku founds in Naniwa (Osaka) the temple of the “four king-guards” (Shitennôji), reconstituted out of concrete in 1950 starting from archaeological excavations.
  • In China, one prints works by means of plates engraved on wood.

Europe

  • Agilulf, king of the Lombards, threat Rome, defended by Gregoire Large the, insulated. The letters of the Gregoire pope describe despaired Rome, famished, awaiting the grain of Sicily or accommodating populations fleeing Lombards. The bishops give up their dioceses to take refuge in strengthened places, the monasteries are devastated, as that of Monte Casino (580) which remains abandoned more than one century.

  • Beginning of the reign of Ethelfrith, king of Northumbrie (593-616). He fights victoriously against the Bretons.
  • Augustin de Canterbury, sent by the Gregoire pope, arrives in the Kent, in the United Kingdom to convert the Anglo-Saxons with the Christianisme.
