  • the Empereur of the East Maurice Ier starts to fight the Avars and the Slaves at the border of the Danube. It gains successes, crosses the river on several occasions, but runs up against the mass of Slavic already installed. The Byzantines take again Singidunum.

  • Arnulf, duke of Spolète, appears under the walls of Rome whereas the communications are cut with Ravenne. Gregoire Large the must treat with the Lombards of Arnulf.

  • With the Japan, the emperor of the Yamoto, Sushun, is assassinated by a member of the clan Soga, Soga No Umako (death in 626), which places his/her niece Suiko on the throne (592-628). Creation of the words tennô (“the emperor”) and Nihon (“Japan”).
