Sigebert Ier, winner in Neustrie, is assassinated by Frédégonde with Vitry in Artois. His wife, Brunehilde, captive of Chilpéric, are impotent. The duke Gondowald however succeeds in saving his five year old son, Childebert II, and to make it proclaim king of Austrasie to Metz. The large ones will exert the reality of the capacity during ten years, until its majority. The Gogon governor concluded an alliance with Gontran.

Cassiodore, Latin writer, advised Théodoric (Flavius Magnus Aurelius Cassodorius, v. 480 - v.575), founder of the monastery of Vivarium. Author of History of Goths , of which there remains today only the summary of the medieval historian Jornandès. The letters which it wrote when it was with the service of the sovereigns ostrogoths constitute an important testimony over this period.
