Until the First World War

1915
October 5th, 1915, the 1e division of Infanterie (D.I.) of the C.E.O becomes 1st D.I of the C.E.D.; January 6th, 1916 the 1st D.I of the C.E.D. is transformed into 17th DIC.
1916
Starting from January 6th, 1916: preparations of offensive in the peninsula of Gallipoli.Starting from August 17th: 6th combat of the Kéréves Déré, then organization of a sector in this area.
Evacuation of the peninsula of Gallipoli and transport with Moudros.
Formation of a brigade, by means of European elements of the C.E.D. stationed with Moudros, Ténédos and Mitylène.
1917
January 28th - April 28th: Unloading in Macedonia of the European brigade. Formation of the 17th D.I.C., by the addition of a brigade arriving of France. Organization of defensive positions towards Livaritikon Oros and the heights north and south-east of Galatista.April 28th - June 9th: Occupation of a sector on lower Right Bank of Strouma. Alteration work of the road of Salonique to Sérés.
June 9th - August 9th: Raise by the British Armée; movement towards Irikli and Dérésélo. Work and occupation of a sector towards Gola and coast 576.
August 9th - September 14th: Engaged from August 9th to 18th in the Battle of Doiran, then organization of the positions conquered in the North-West of Vladaya.
September 14th - October 12th: Withdrawal of the face and rest of the 33e colonial brigade in the area of Banitsa, then in that of Négovani and Sakoulévo. Participation of this brigade in the formation of a provisional D.I. The 34e colonial brigade continues to hold the sector of DOI ran (with the direct provision of C.A.A).
