Dead supposed of king Artus or Arthur. It would have reigned on a Breton kingdom in the south of Scotland (low-grounds of the Strathclyde). It would have joins together several Celtic tribes to fight against the Angles (actually, the Bretons, divided, are torn by the interior fights). Its legend is sung by the bards Welsh then by various chroniclers (Nennius, Geoffroy de Monmouth), is developed in France by Wace and leads to the Cycle of the Roundtable.
