- the first kingdom of Burgundy (Burgondes) created into 442 is annexed by the Francs.
- Gaulle: with died of Thierry Ier, Childebert Ier and Clotaire Ier try to divide its kingdom, but the large ones are opposed and support the son of Thierry to it, Théodebert Ier. Théodebert and Childebert leave then in war against Clotaire.
- Italy: Died of the young king of the Ostrogoths, Athalaric. His/her mother Amalasonte, to preserve the capacity, marries her cousin Théodat who becomes king (534 - 536).

(August 533) the forces of Byzance led by Bélisaire conquer the kingdom of the Vandales in North Africa and capture the king vandal Gélimer. Most of the North Africa is now under the control of Byzance.
- Bélisaire reorganizes recently conquered Africa. As of its departure, the Berbères revolt, the ones in Byzacène led by Iabdas, king of the sedentaries of the Aurès, the others in Numidie, led by Cutzinas, chief of the nomads of Tripolitaine.
- Hiéroklès publishes a Répertoire of the cities and provinces of the Byzantine Empire .
