A stage of only 142 kilometers for the stage in the shortest line of this Turn of Spain. No difficulty on a completely flat course. A stage dedicated to the sprinters. The two intermediate sprints are located at Garrovilla (km 39) and Puebla de Obando (km 90).

It is Erik Zabel which carries it with the sprint, whereas the Norwegian Thor Hushovd finishes for the 3rd consecutive stage in the second place but preserves nevertheless the head of general classification.
