4th regiment of hussards (1791-1793)

The 4th Régiment of hussards (or the 4th RH) is a regiment made up under the Ancien Mode. It was distinguished at the time of the war of the first coalition, while passing to the enemy entirely, with weapons and luggage, the general Dumouriez.

Creation and various denominations

  • 1743 : Creation of the Hunters of Fischer

  • 1761: Dragon-Hunters of Conflans
  • 1763 becomes the : becomes the Légion of Conflans .
  • 1776 : becomes a regiment of hussard S, and is famous Conflans-Hussards
  • March 1st 1789: famous Saxony-Hussards
  • January 1st 1791: all the regiments famous according to their weapon, and are numbered according to their seniority; is thus famous 4th Regiment of Hussards
  • May 4th, 1792: after its treason, it is unobtrusive shelves, and the 5 {{E}} Régiment of Hussards, old Colonel Général of Hussards , takes its number; all the following regiments are thus shifted of a number downwards.
  • May-September 1792: The hussards of Saxony are assigned to the army of the Princes
  • November 1792: after the dismissal of the army of the Princes, the hussards of Saxony pass to the service of Austria.
  • April 25th, 1798: the hussards of Saxony take part with the hussards of Bercheny in the formation of the 13th Regiment of Austrian Light Dragons.
  • 1802: the 13th Regiment of Light Dragons is tranformé in 6th General Regiment of Light horsemen Prinz von Rosenberg-Orsini.
