4th regiment of hussards
The 4th Régiment of hussards (or the 4th RH) is a regiment made up under the Ancien Mode.
Initially named Hussards Colonel Général , it takes the name of 5th regiment of hussards at the time of the reorganization of 1791, then, that of 4th regiment of hussards after the treason of the regiment which carried this number in 1792.
Creation and various denominations

July 31st 1783: regiment Colonel-general of Hussards - created for the duke of Chartres with a squadron of each regiment of hussards, Bercheny, Chamborant, Conflans and Esterhazy.
- May 30th 1788: reinforced by a quota of soldiers taken in the regiments of cavalry of Quercy, Septimanie, Nassau, of Maerck, Franche-Comté and of Évéchés.
- January 1st 1791: all the regiments famous according to their weapon, and are numbered according to their seniority; is thus famous 5th Regiment of Hussards .
- May 4th, 1792: after the treason of the 4 {{E}} Regiment of Hussards, the 5th regiment of hussards , old Colonel-general of Hussards , takes its number; all the following regiments are thus shifted of a number downwards.
- 1814: becomes Régiment of Hussards of Mister
- 1815: the name of 4th Regiment of Hussards
- 1816 takes again: becomes Régiment of Hussards of North
- 1825: the name of 4th Regiment of Hussards
- July 2nd, 1940 takes again: dissolved
- February 15th, 1945: re-creation of the 4th Regiment of Hussards starting from the elements of the COABC 405
- October 30th, 1945: dissolved and transformed into 2 {{E}} Regiment of Hussards
- July 15th, 1956: re-creation of the 4th Regiment of Hussards starting from the elements of the 251e B
- 15 janier 1959: dissolved
- April 1st, 1959: re-creation of the 4th Regiment of Hussards starting from the elements of the 31 {{E}} Regiment of Dragons
- 1964: dissolved to become the 8th regiment of dragons and immediately recreated aec elements of the 1 {{er}} Regiment of Hunters of Africa and of the center of instruction of the 6 {{E}} Regiment of Dragons.
- 1984: dissolution with Laon (02), of the 4th Regiment of Hussards
- 1991: re-creation of the 4th regiment of hussards which becomes the regiment of support of the RMD-NE
- 2000: takes to the denomination of 4th Group of Squadrons of Hussards (4th G.E.H)

In 1804, 4th receives four eagles and standards of the Challiot model. In 1805, the regiment, which have 637 men, fact part of the brigade Picard, division Kellermann, 1st army corps of the marshal Bernadotte of the Large army.

At that time, the old ones of the Revolution yield their place to young recruits. The September 27th 1808, 4th receives two gold crowns of the town of Paris and share for the army of Spain. There, it fights until in 1813:

In 1812, an eagle remains in service, the others are returned the March 19th. The standard of the regiment is model 1812 with the mentions: AUSTERLITZ IENA FRIEDLAND .
In 1813, the regiment passes to the 3rd body of cavalry of the Large army.
In 1814, it belongs to the 6th body of cavalry to the army of Lyon under the command of Augereau with the 10th squadron of the 4th Guard of honor (imperial Garde). As of the January 10th, the first scuffles between the French and Austrian troops take place in the north of Borough. The 11, the Austrians are seized again and counter-attacks close to the carronière of Shawls. Gathered in Vienna, 4th receives an eagle and a standard model 1815, after having burned its white standard of royal regiment coldly blessed on the square of the church of Vienna to the advertisement of the return of Napoleon, then joined the Large army. He fights with:
