4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days
4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days ( 4 luni, 3 săptămâni şi 2 zile ) is a Rumanian film carried out by Cristian Mungiu, left in 2007. It received the Palme of gold to the 60 {{E}} Cannes festival.
Synopsis
The film is held in Romania at the time them last years of the capacity of the leader Ceauşescu. He tells the history of a coed who tries to be made fall through with the assistance of her joint tenant. The film reports also the difficult living conditions of this country, the importance of the black-market, the wage lag, the control of the company and the miles manners of escaping and of surviving from it. It is a film on thirst to control its femininity and its body, whatever is the price.
The film surprises the spectator on several levels: the " maker of anges" is a man, heroin is not the expectant mother, the absence of spectacular bounces, a course of the action in less than 12 midnight.
Beyond the ethical question, the realizer makes abortion an act of resistance against the dictatorship in place. In an oppressive atmosphere (the university room resembles a prison, the passengers of the car seem wedged, the long dark corridors, etc) where one feels the weight of the control of the company and the State on the individuals, the transgression remains the only exit to feel free.

Polemics and controversies
The delicate subject of the film (the Abortion) and the manner of treating this topic generated several polemics and controversies.
In France, associations anti-abortion, and certain people like the minister Christine Boutin, wanted to prohibit the teaching DVD promised by the price of State education that the film had received at the time of the Cannes festival. The disputes vis-a-vis such a possible censure, largely relayed by the media, nevertheless led the Minister for education, Xavier Darcos, to authorize this DVD. The controversy was all the more astonishing as the film adopts a neutral position with respect to the abortion, which confirmed the actress Anamaria Marinca during an interview in the presence of the realizer: we put a point of honor not to take party to let the spectator forge his opinion . In addition, the film was finally classified " all public" in France by the commission of classification, together with a stringcourse of warning for the sensitive spectators
