  • April 9th: died of Zénon, Byzantine Emperor. Anastase I {{er}}, a senior official, marries his widow ARIANE, girl of Leon I {{er}} and of Vérine, and succeeds to him (fine of the reign 518).
  • the Isauriens enter in revolt against Anastase I {{er}} which put an end to their influence, dominating under Zénon, itself isaurien, with Constantinople. They are crushed with the battle of Cotiæum.
  • Sainte Brigitte founds a convent of women in Ireland.
  • Countryside of Clovis in Thuringe.
  • national Council of the Armenian Church with Vagharchapat: the Council of Chalcédoine of 451, which condemns the Monophysisme, judged in contradiction with that of Éphèse (431), is anathématisé. The Armenian Church since is regarded as schismatic by the Catholic church.
