470 railcar

Being given the good performances obtained by the 440 in interurban and regional service, it is decided to rebuild 56 units for this service of them when the Renfe decides the modernization of this series. They will be renumbered in the section 470

Design

In addition to the major modifications already carried out on the 440R, the 470 are characterized some by interior installation and decoration. All the seats of origin are replaced by new models in fabric of color blue. The capacity differs according to the units, because on some, the number of seats installed in the old van part could vary from 4 to 14… Most of the transformed units have on the contrary considering this site van reconverted for the transport of the bicycles, with installation of 12 folding seats. Contrary to the 440R, the 470 have two WC installed in the trailer with cabin. Some 440R is still reconverted in 470 as from 2003
