Europe
- March 16th: Beginning of the reign of Pétrone Maxime, Roman Emperor of Occident.
- Maxime Pétrone makes assassinate Valentinien by a bucellaire Aetius, Accila, and by Trasila, brother-in-law of the emperor. He forces Eudoxie, the widow of Valentinien, to marry it and confers the title of César on his son Palladius. Eudoxy, to avenge Valentinien, calls the Vandal Genséric who unloads with Ostie and plunders Rome during more than one month (June 2nd). Maxime is lapidated by the people to have fled.
- 2 - June 16th: Bag of Rome. The Vandals, started from North Africa and led by Gaiséric (Genséric), take and plunder Rome, then are fixed in Sicily. Genséric turns over to Africa with enormous spoils and many hostages of which the widow and girls of Valentinien.
- July 9th: with Arles (with Beaucaire, according to other sources), Avitus Eparchius, Roman Emperor of Occident, are a senator Arverne carried to the capacity by the Visigoths and the Burgondes (455-456).
- the Francs seize Trier, which is lost for Rome.
- the Anglo-Saxon seize the Brittany and attract new immigrants. They settle along the coasts of the Norfolk and the Kent towards 450 -455 for then devastating the Midlands (central areas of the country).
- the displacement of many populations on small rowing boats could be spread out over several generations. Archeology confirms the installation of the Saxons in the South of England, and that of the Angles in North. The Breton ones of these areas are driven out or completely comparable (toponymy and the English language comprise very few words with Celtic root).
- the Christian Church replaces the collective confession by the auricular confession.

- the oldest son of Attila, Ellac, is killed by a coalition of hostile Germanic people to the Huns, Gépides and revolted Sarmates, led by the king gépide Ardaric. It is the end of the Empire of Huns in Europe because the two brothers of Ellac, Dengitzic and Ernac, flee towards the east with their entourage and start to occupy the territories pontic of the Ostrogoths. Irnik, another son of Attila will try a raid on Constantinople which will fail.
- Certains groups of Huns is engaged to defend the Byzantine Empire against the German Eastern ones. Emnetzur and Ultzindur is installed in Dacie Ripuaire, in the valleys of Utus, Almus and Oescus, vis-a-vis the kingdom gépide. Others, under the control of Kelkal, are integrated into the army of Aspar like riders of the mobile units.

- Skandagupta demolishes the invasion of the Huns and becomes emperor of the India S (fine in 467).
- Skandagupta manages to contain the Huns Toramâna, in spite of its defeat with the battle of Eran.
- Destruction of Sirsukh (Taxila) by the Huns. The Kusâna found in the vicinity Purushapura, current the Peshawar.
- According to the Chinese pilgrim of the 7th century Hsüan Tsang, the king hun Toramâna persecutes Buddhism.

- June 2nd: Pétrone Maxime, lapidated by the Holy people of Rome
- Prosper of Aquitaine, born close to Bordeaux v. 390. He fought against the heresies and was the secretary of the Leon pope the Large one.
