3D WorldRunner
3D WorldRunner (とびだせ大作戦, Tobidase Daisakusen, in Japanese) is a Video game of action left in 1987. To the Japan, the play left on Famicom Disk System under the name of Tobidase Daisakusen. It then left the same year to the the United States on Nintendo Entertainment System. The play was developed by Square then published, in Japan, by DOG, a label of Public garden and in the United States by Acclaim.
The player endorses the role of WorldRunner (known under the name of Jack in Japan), a space cow-boy on mission to save several planets invaded by monsters resembling snakes. For this time, the play is technically advanced; the run in three dimensions is very resembling the graphs of Mode 7, a graphic mode appeared several years afterwards on Super BORN in plays such as Super Mario Kart . 3D WorldRunner was conceived by Hironobu Sakaguchi, Nobuo Uematsu and Nasir Gebelli. Its people will form the core of the team which with developed the popular roleplay Final Fantasy. They also developed JJ, the continuation of 3D WorldRunner .
Gameplay
3D WorldRunner contains many typical elements of a vertical scrolling shooter. The players must destroy or avoid enemies ravelling with the background. However, the majority of the scrolling shooter vertical use an air sight whereas 3D WorldRunner adopts a back sight with the third nobody.The players make their way through eight worlds, leaf of the creatures alienate hostile and leaping with the top of Canyon S bottomless. Each world is divided into four parts, and the player must cross each part before the countdown does not reach zero. In each part the player can strike columns in order to find there objects beneficial or not for the character (called Power up). In the bar of state in bottom of the screen you can read:
- the score of the player
- time remaining
- the number of stars recovered by the player
- the remaining number of lives
Mission
The play proceeds in the Solar system #157. That Ci is invaded by a race of aliens known under the name of Serpentbeasts, carried out by terrifying Grax. The player must thus traverse eight planets in order to destroy Grax.
Basic controls
The continuous run of the screen does not allow the stop of the character, but by using the directional Flèches of the lever of control the player can accelerate or slow down the step of WorldRunner. The play also allows an infinite side displacement. To beat Serpentbeast at the end of each world, the player can move freely in all the directions.The basic actions of the play consist in jumping and has to launch missiles. To jump is essential in order to cross the canyons bottomless and to avoid the enemies. The player can measure the length of the jump while pressing simultaneously on the button to jump and the directional arrows. Thanks to Power up, WorldRunner can also draw from the missiles to destroy its enemies. As soon as the player reaches Serpentbeast at the end of a world, WorldRunner is automatically armed with missiles in order to destroy it.
Enemies and Obstacles
The traversed worlds are filled of enemies who attack or block WorldRunner in his progression. Moreover, the player must jump to the top of canyons present in all the worlds. Lastly, at the end of each world, a boss called Serpentbeast awaits the player. Each enemy and obstacle have a definite and nonrandom place.
Canyons (Obstacle)
The canyons are present in each world. They different by their width and their number.
Serpentbeasts (Enemy)
Serpentbeasts appear at the end of each world. They must be overcome in order to pass in the higher world. The number of Serpentbeast increases with the wire of the worlds.
Various enemies (Enemy)
Each world brings its batch of enemies. Certain types of enemies are found through the levels. In the second world, Toro, appear the Invincible Hands. Its enemies do not wound the character, but try to block its progression while following its movements.
Objects
Although filled of monsters full with bad intentions, the eight worlds contain also useful objects. The majority of those Ci are hidden in columns disseminated through each world.To recover the following objects, it is enough to throw a column:

Potions of Power : This potion gives the capacity to absorb a blow of an enemy. The hair, gloves and boots of WorldRunner become red then. Once touched, the effects of the potion disappear.
- Missiles : Once armed with missiles, WorldRunner can indefinitely draw in order to destroy its enemies. Once touched, this capacity disappears.
- Mushrooms : Contrary to Super Mario, the mushrooms kill the character instantaneously, even if the player with taken a potion of power.
- Hearts : This object increases by number of lives of the player.
- Atoms : The atoms make temporarily WorldRunner invisible. Invisibility protects from mushrooms, makes it possible to destroy the enemies in their going above but it does not avoid death if fall into a canyon.
- Cosmic Clocks : They make it possible to give the time meter to the beginning. They are very rare.
The objects according to are in the world:

Stars : The stars are small objects disseminated through all the worlds. They increase the score of the player of 50 points. Moreover, at the end of each world, the number of stars had is multiplied by 200 then added to the score. The number of stars is posted in bottom on the right screen. This one falls down to zero if the player dies.
- Balloons : These objects are used to transport WorldRunner in a level no-claims bonus, called part B. They are filled of stars and columns containers of the useful objects.
- Small Springs : They appear in the third world, Caverno. While going above, its Ressort S sends WorldRunner in the airs. They are essential to pass certain very broad canyons.
- Super Springs : Its springs, flatter than the small ones, have the same utility as the small ones, accepted that they send WorldRunner much higher.
Worlds
3D WorldRunner contains eight worlds, containers from 2 to 4 parts each one.
Mode 3D
This play draws its name ( 3D WorldRunner ) owing to the fact that it is programmed to be able to be played in 3D. It was the first of a series of three plays in 3D by Square. The others were JJ (the continuation of 3D WorldRunner ) and Rad Racer. Once the mode 3D selected, the play uses a technique of superposition of two point of sights different on the same image, more known under the name of Anaglyphe. The play was sold with a pair of " glasses anaglyphe" who uses filters red and cyan in order to create the illusion of an image in three dimensions.Nowadays, it is extremely difficult to find the play 3D WorldRunner in entirety. Even the specimens sold on eBay contain the handbook, limps it of play and the jacket, but never the glasses.

The band its of 3D WorldRunner contains 8 tracks. All the tracks of 3D WorldRunner were re-used or remixées in the continuation: JJ.
