38e legislature of Canada

The 38e legislature of Canada sat of the October 4th 2004 with the November 29th 2005. She was elected at the time of the general election June 28th 2004 and its composition was slightly modified because of resignations and bys-election, but because of the distribution of the seats, these small changes have sometimes largely affected the balance of power. It was dissolved before the federal election of 2006.

It was directed by the Liberal party of Canada under the Prime Minister Paul Martin. The Conservative party of Canada formed the official opposition, under Stephen Harper. The president of the Room was Peter Milliken.

The legislature is dissolved the November 29th 2005 by the general gouverneure following a vote of adopted distrust the November 28th by the conservatives with the support of the Nouveau Democratic party and the Québécois Bloc. Consequently, an general election was started for the January 23rd 2006 to elect the next legislature.

The 38e legislature counted only one session, from October 4th, 2004 to November 29th, 2005.
