37e regiment of infantry of line

The 37e Régiment of infantry of Line (or 37e IH) is a Régiment of Infanterie of line made up under the Ancien Mode.

Creation and various denominations

  • 1587 : company of men-at-arms raised by Mr. de Lémon

  • 1604: creation under the name of Regiment of Lémon
  • 1632: famous Regiment of Turenne
  • 1675: famous Regiment of Maine
  • 1740: famous Regiment of Have
  • 1775: famous Regiment of the Resident of Nevers
  • 1778: famous Regiment Marshal of Turenne
  • 1790: famous 37e Regiment of Infantry
  • 1796: 37e half-brigade of infantry of line consisted the 111e (1st battalion of the 56 regiment of infantry, 1st battalion of the volunteers of the Flowering ash and 2nd Beats Flight of the Moselle) and 173e half-brigades of battle (1st Bat, 95e Regt d' Inf, 5th Flight of Meurthe Beats and 6th Flight of the Vosges Beats).
  • 1803 : 37e Regiment of Infantry of line .
  • 1815 : the legion of the Sarthe
  • 1820: 37e Regiment of Infantry of Line
  • : The final name of 37e Régiment of Infantry
  • 1914 takes: give rise to the 237 {{E}} Régiment of Infantry
