Events
- the Huns, led by the chief Balamber or Balamin pass the Don and attack the Alains (paléoasiates) at the time of a battle on the banks of the Gift. Dispersed by the Huns archers, Alains flee towards the west by groups. Some will join the reducing Goths towards Balkans (they will reappear then in Pannonia), then with the Vandales which they will follow until Carthage. They are also established in Gaulle, but the majority adopts Huns like auxiliary people.
- February 16th: Passage of the Halley's Comet.
- December 7th (traditional date): Simple Catechumen, Ambroise is named bishop of Milan by popular acclamation. It makes to city the religious rival of Rome (375 - 397).
