319-22 diesel
The problems which affected the first section of the series 319.0 and had justified the rebuilding of a first under-series 319.20 extend quickly to the whole of the series during the years 1980, especially with the units of Spanish construction. The Renfe then decides to rebuild the remainder of 78 units in three under-series différeciées by the technical specifications. The first under-series will take the continuation of the already rebuilt machines, starting from the number 319-221.
Design
The 319-221 to 258 are they same divided into several under-series:- the 319-221 to 240 take again the technical specifications from the 319-201 to 220, in other words they correspond to model J26CW-2 of EMD/General Motors. But they are different from it by new carosseries with assembly from origin from the air conditioning in the cabins, of the detectors of obturation of the filters, an earth electrode, and equipment of dual braking (except the 319-239 and 240 which have only the brake with air). They leave factory with the gray and black decoration of the ONE of traccion
- the 319-241 to 248 are equipped with bogies to the standard spacing and the equipment of control LZB enabling them to circulate on the lines AVE. They leave factory with delivered AVES
- the 319-249 to 258 are ordered from GEC-Alstom in 1994. They are carried out with entirely new parts. They have of the compressed-air air-operated brake and the rheostatic electric brake, an auxiliary generator with alternative course, and a model new compressor to the higher flow. Outside, they are different from the preceding ones by the absence of the large central shutters. They correspond to technical specifications J26CW-AC of EMD/General Motors
- the 319-221 to 248 are built by Meinfesa (n° 1823 to 1850) in 1990 and 1991.
- the 319-249 to 258 are built by GEC-Alstom (n° 1948 to 1957) in 1994 and 1995.
Service
As of the exit of factory, the first slices 319-221 to 240 is assigned to the deposits of Valence - Fuente of San Luis, Saragossa and Grenade. They are used at the head the trans ones of goods, often in double heading because of their low power. From the years 2000, certain units assigned to the ONE transport combinados are equipped with reserves of greater capacity (6000 liters). At that time, they migrate towards other skies and one finds some affected with Barcelona, Irun, Orense. In 2002, they all are gathered with Saragossa, Valence, Seville, Salamanque, Orense and Miranda del Ebro.
